Ajith Kumar is a leading Kollywood star who often avoids political-related statements in his movies and during his public appearances, contrary actor Vijay.

However, Ajith has not always been this way. A 10-year old video that resurfaced online once again shows Ajith questioning the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi in a ceremony that was also attended by Rajinikanth.

Ajith complained to the then Chief Minister that the actors are forced to take part in events organised by politicians who threaten to boycott them, but at the same time, threaten the same actors to not enter politics.

"What's wrong if actors enter politics since we're expected to participate in political and social events?," questioned Ajith who received a standing ovation from Rajinikanth.

The actor, however, got into trouble after speaking against the politicians and Rajinikanth allegedly came to his rescue.

“I appreciate Ajith's boldness,” Rajinikanth told the media after personally meeting CM Karunanidhi following the incident and Ajith also met the CM to further clarify his statement.
