1. Papaya

Use papaya to exfoliate the skin and to give it a radiant glow and smooth finish. Use it either as a face wash daily; or as a face mask once a month. Because it is an effective exfoliate and is full of enzymes, it is advisable to not expose the skin to sunlight for at least two days after using it.

2. Coffee

Grounded coffee beans mixed with honey can be used as homemade body scrubs. It is a gentle exfoliating agent that is able to remove dead skin without irritation and it also moisturises the skin because it contains oil. Coffee ice cubes can be gently rubbed under your eyes for a soothing reducing puffiness or redness around the eye.

3. Rose Water

Washing the face with a mixture of water and rose water can help to rejuvenate the skin. Rose water also contains calming and soothing agents that help to calm down the skin and make it smell fresh throughout the day.

4. Milk

Milk is used in Indian rituals because it represents purity. It is also great for the skin because it serves as a moisturiser. The milk protein is able to hydrate and improve the elasticity of the skin to give a supple look.

5. Watermelon

Watermelon is full of vitamin C, amino acids and lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that nourishes the skin. Turkish women are known to use it to revitalise their skin.
