Top Bazaars to Visit This Ramadan

  • 29 May 2019

Ramadan is the best time for foodies to explore the huge selection of Malay food that Malaysia has to offer. Below are some of the most popular bazaars in Kuala Lumpur that have a little something extra special that will delight the taste buds and senses.

1. Kampung Baru

The bazaar has over 200 stalls along Jalan Raja Alang with its most famous stall offering a unique interpretation of nasi lemak called 'Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa'. If you're looking for something lighter, looked out for 'Roti Goreng McGyver'. The bun is filled to the brim with meat wrapped in a layer of popiah skin and is deep fried.

The bazaar is located along Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 2 and is primarily famous for the murtabak raja. This is also where you can find the delicious pulut udang, but be warned, it sells out quite fast.

3. Jalan Masjid India

Jalan Masjid India is the place to be if you are looking for good Malay food. One stall to look out for would be Mak Wan's, whose nasi campur sells out before 5pm.

4. Shah Alam

The Shah Alam stadium is famous among university students. Don't miss out on the famous SS Ali popiah and Laksa Utara. If you want something sweeter, look out for kek batik which is made from Marie biscuits, condensed milk and chocolate spread.
