The devastating monsoon flood has hit Kerala this time, causing the death toll to rise over 368. Meanwhile, more than 150,000 people in the state were left homeless!

Even though rescue mission was carried out by defense forces and disaster response teams throughout the state, the torrential rain and landslides are making the rescue even more difficult.

Due to the worsening situation, the government announced red alerts in all 14 districts, while Cochin International Airport suspends its service until 26th August. The public transportation system collapsed as there are no land, rail or air transportation available now.

Following this ill-fated situation, the shutters of all the 35 dams in the state were opened. Yet the water levels in all the dams have not reduced so far. At the same time, opening the dams also tend to jeopardize some parts of the neighbouring state, Tamil Nadu.

After water was released from the Chittar Dam, certain parts of Kanyakumari started flooding and rescue mission was carried out to keep the villagers safe.
