My life started in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. Like me, my parents were very passionate about music as well.

My mom has learned sangeetham, and my dad has a vast knowledge of music. Contrary to other parents who show more interest in children's education, my parents showed more interest in music.

They, together with my uncle, encouraged me to be a musician since a small kid. At the age of 12, I started learning music from a temple priest. I learned to play harmonium, as well as about raagam, taalam and so on.

When I was 18 years old, I became a huge fan of Michael Jackson. I adored him and loved his style, confidence and everything about him.

My dad used to tell me that if I take Michael Jackson as my idol, even if I could not become 100% of what he is, I can at least be 2% of it.

I only had the confidence to create my own song when I turned 21 years old. I was at Batu Caves Thaipusam that time, enjoying the urumi melam sound.

As I was listening to the sound, I wondered, "If these beats can make gods (people with trans) dance to the tune, it's not going to be difficult to create music to make commoners dance".

We only had cassettes at that time. So I and my friends formed the group 'The Keys' and played music, record it in a cassette and see how we can modernize the urumi melam sounds.

We did this for so many years till we came up with the 'Akkamage' tune when I was 26 years old. We tried the tune out with so many musical instruments to see which one sounds the best and to perfect the tune. But I still didn't have the idea to release it as a song at that time.

I was in love with my sister's daughter, who is now my loving wife. She had a domestic accident while trying to save her mom and had her face injured. We needed RM10,000 that time for an operation to repair her face.

It was then I decided to make the album 'Akkamage' to raise fund for my girlfriend's operation. It took me 2 years to complete and release it! We started selling the cassette at RM7.50 each and managed to sell over 2,000 cassettes.

I managed to raise the fund I needed for her face correction, however, she said it was not necessary and all she ever wanted is to be with me. We happily got married in the year 1997.

Following that, I came up with several albums namely Margarita, Maravana, Karatana and so on. The albums were hit as well, but yet nothing managed to beat my first album.

At the moment I'm working on albums and movies. Watch me in Ithu Namma Paattu La on 17th June at 8PM on Astro Vaanavil (Ch201).
