1) Mauritius

The Ganesh Chaturthi Festival is celebrated by the Hindu community which consists of 52 % of the total population on this island. The Hindus will either visit riverbanks or go to local beaches with replicas of Ganesh idols that are made out of mud. These replicas will then be immersed in water before sunset.

2) Maharashtra

This state of India is known for a grand scale of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. During the festival, colourful shrines are set up and the Lord is worshiped for ten days. Then, the temporary shrines are immersed in water accompanied by a glorious dance celebration.

3) Thailand

Thailand is the only place in the world where there are more non-Hindu followers of an Indian God. Ganesha, the most versatile of all gods possesses tremendous following in Thailand. The Lord is decorated with Thai head gear and finery and temples are an important place of worship on this day.

4) UK

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with an eco- friendly idol for a period of two days in London, Hounslow and Slough. The celebration consists of traditional puja ceremony, fancy dress parade, rangoli competition and DJ parties. Then, the idol is transported to Liverpool for immersion.
