Do you know if you laugh at someone who is being bullied without telling the bully to stop or do nothing to help, you are a bully too?

What is bullying?

Bullying is repeated verbal, physical, social or psychological behavior that is harmful and involves the misuse of power by an individual or group towards one or more individuals.

Basically, you are bullying when you take someone’s things, tell lies about someone, say you’ll hurt someone, call someone by names, make fun of someone, hurt someone, leave someone out or get others to bully!

Astro Ulagam found 6 types of bullying. Identify these bullying habits and stop bullying. As a bystander, help by not laughing, tell the bully to stop, don’t join in and inform an adult about it. This is crucial because you will save a life.

1) Physical Bullying

Hitting, kicking or punching a person.

2) Verbal Bullying

Offensive remarks on gender, religion, ethnicity, appearance or social background of an individual.

3) Indirect Bullying

Spreading rumors and exaggerated stories of someone.

4) Social Alienation

Excluding the person from a group with lies and rumors.

5) Intimidation Bullying

Threatens a person.

6) Cyber Bullying

Sending picture or message via electronic media.
