Neem, an herbal medicinal tree native to India is packed with myriad of health benefits.

The plant has been described in the Ayurveda’s prime text as the ‘sarva roga nivarini’ which translates to ‘keeping all diseases at bay’. Every part of this plant, from its leaves to its roots, is used in the preparation of over 75 % of Ayurvedic medicines.

Find out how you should use the neem plant to improve your health!

Assist in weight-loss

Drinking neem flower juice will allow you to reduce fat around your stomach. Neem flowers are great in increasing your metabolism and aid in the breakdown of body fat. Crush a handful of neem flowers, add a teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of lemon juice and mix all the ingredients properly. Have this mixture on an empty stomach every day to lose weight!

Natural eyewash

If you are experiencing eye irritation or conjunctivitis, boil fresh neem leaves in water for about 10 minutes and let it cook. Use this as a natural eye wash.

Cures Acne

Acne is a result of clogs pores due to dirt and bacteria. Neem is useful as it controls the oil secretion and fights against any infection.

Boil neem leaves in water until the leaves are soft and discoloured. Wait until the water turns green. Strain and store to water in a bottle. Dab a cotton ball in the neem water and apply it evenly onto your face every day. You can also add it into your regular bathing water to get rid of body odour and other infections.

Solution for dry skin

Neem leaves are known to have moisturising properties which aids in keeping dry skin from getting rough and itchy.  Take some neem powder and mix with a few drops of grape seed oil. Apply on the affected area once or twice a week to see the difference.

Removes dark circle

To remove dark circles, mix water and neem powder to make a thick paste. Apply this mixture around the eyes. Wash it off after 15 minutes.
