The court battle between Malaysia-based DMY Creations and Lyca Productions has just begun. It was reported on many news sites that Superstar's most anticipated Pongal release Darbar might not hit the theatres in Malaysia tomorrow (Jan 9), much to the disappointment of Thalaivar's die-hard fans in the country.

Previously, DMY requested the ban of 'Darbar' and alleged Lyca of owing them 23.7 crores (RM 13 million). However, Lyca denied the accusations and countered DMY with a petition stating the latter owes them 1.59 crores (RM 900,000) over the distribution of films 2.0, Vada Chennai, Maari 2 and Vantha Rajavaathaan Varuven.

Hearing the case, Madras High court has now decided Darbar's release in Malaysia will be banned unless Lyca deposits Rs 4.90 crore (RM 2.8 million) or provide a bank guarantee to the court to ensure the film releases on Jan 9. The film can be released in India and all other countries except Malaysia.

There hasn't any official confirmation about the news from Lyca Productions. However, a reliable source from Lotus Five Star confirmed that Lyca Productions will pay up the amount to the court by today and Darbar will release in Malaysia tomorrow.

Earlier today, Lyca Productions released a promo stating Darbar's worldwide release from tomorrow:
