Jai To Romance The Same Heroine Again!

  • 13 Jul 2019

Sometimes, the chemistry between two actors is just so perfect, directors want to take advantage of it over and over again. Recently, it was reported that Jai and Athulya Ravi will be seen together in SA Chandrasekhar's upcoming directorial film, "Capmari", which will apparently be a 'romantic entertainer that appeals to the youth of today'.

"Capmari" is Chandrasekhar's 70th time as director and Jai's 25th as the lead, and will also star Vaibhavi Shandilya as the other female lead. Vaibhavi will be seen in the role of an NRI from the US.

Chandrasekhar last directed the 2015 film, "Touring Talkies" and was last seen playing the lead role in "Traffic Ramaswamy", directed by his assistant Vicky. Talk about running in the same circles.

And now, Jai and Athulya Ravi will have another chance to work in debutant Vetriselvan SK's untitled film but which is said to be an action drama. Vetriselvan explained, "If I have to label the genre of my film, the story will fall under action, crime and romance. Jai plays a software professional, while Athulya plays his love interest. He is an ordinary guy that one would come across in our day-to-day life. But he will get into a situation that will urge him to take revenge. I wanted a zestful, young actor who could pull off this role and I felt Jai will be apt for the film. He, too, liked the story."

The team has already begun shooting in Chennai. "Actor Sunil, Vaibhav Shandilya's brother, who recently starred in "Seethakaathi", will essay an important role. We are still on the lookout for an actor to play a negative role. We will be making announcements regarding the rest of the cast and crew soon," said the director, who had earlier assisted director Vasanth.

Jai, meanwhile, is busy shooting for his superhero film, "Breaking News", and Gopi Nainar's upcoming project. He recently made his Malayalam debut with Mammootty's "Madhura Raja".
