Director S.A Chandrasekhar needs no introduction in the Indian movie industry. He is a famous movie director, producer, and writer, who debuted in the industry via the movie 'Aval Oru Pachai Kuzhanthai' in the 80s and got his big break via the movie 'Sattam Oru Iruttarai'.

Besides being recognized as a director and producer, he is also remembered for being the father of one of Kollywood's most famous stars, Thalapathy Vijay.

In an interview, the director recalled the time he didn't want Vijay to become an actor, as he didn't want his son to go through the hardship that movie makers experience. He actually wanted Vijay to become a cancer specialist, since he lost his daughter to cancer many years ago. But it was Vijay who took the effort to be an actor.

"Vijay's first movie as a hero failed, but I saw his true potential as a hero. I knew he will be successful one day," says the director.

Thalapathy Vijay is well-known to be very humble and quiet in nature, as well as very dedicated to his commitments in the movies.

"I ensure he understands the struggle of a director and producer when he first started acting. Even when he made mistakes, I made him apologise to them. Since he grew up experiencing that, he turned into a committed and disciplined actor," says the proud father.
